Data controller

The controller of the data collected via this website is Jean-Baptiste Dhondt (“Smidjan”), a natural person based in Wallonia, Belgium: jeanbaptiste.dhondt1@gmail.com.

Data collected

• Contact form: surname, first name, organisation (optional), e-mail address, telephone number (optional), content of the message.
• Browsing data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, collected for security purposes and, where applicable, for audience measurement.
• Data from Google reCAPTCHA: technical signals used to distinguish a human user from a robot when submitting the contact form.

Purposes of the processing

• Respond to contact requests and to the messages sent to me;
• Ensure the security and integrity of the contact form (anti-spam and anti-robot protection);
• Measure and improve the use of the website, where applicable, by means of statistical tools.

Legal basis

• The performance of pre-contractual measures taken at the request of the data subject, for the handling of contact requests;
• My legitimate interest in securing the form and the website against abuse (reCAPTCHA);
• The consent of the user, where it is required for non-essential audience measurement cookies.

Retention period

The data submitted via the contact form is kept for a period of 3 years from the last exchange, unless a longer legal retention obligation applies (in particular accounting) or an ongoing contractual relationship exists.

Recipients of the data

The data is processed by me and, where applicable, by my technical subprocessors (hosting, e-mail, anti-spam and audience measurement tools). It is neither sold, nor rented, nor transferred to third parties for commercial purposes.

This website is not free of cookies or trackers: I do not claim to operate “without any cookie”. The following categories may be used:

To date, the website uses no audience measurement (analytics) tool nor any advertising cookie. If such a tool were to be put in place, this policy would be updated accordingly.

Some of these services, in particular Google reCAPTCHA, are provided by third parties established outside the European Union (United States) and may involve a corresponding transfer of data. These transfers rely on the safeguards provided for by the GDPR, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. You may at any time configure your browser to block or delete non-essential cookies; this may however limit certain features of the website (for example the submission of the contact form).

Your rights

In accordance with Articles 15 to 22 of the GDPR, you have the following rights over your data: the right of access, of rectification, of erasure, of restriction of processing, of portability, of objection, as well as the right to withdraw your consent at any time where the processing depends on it.
